Who or what started your fascination with men in makeup?

First it was the music....Hanoi Roxxx...and after a while their look started 2 interest me as well...and the rest is history....

As most kids a facination with Mum doing her make-up to begin with and then to see Motley Crue and Wrathchild wearing make-up opened the door for me with a little encouragement from my then girlfriend.

I only posted what I posted because someone intimated that they liked men in makeup because they were closeted lesbians. That is one of the things the women on those sites that I mentioned said, that women who like men in makeup are closet lesbians.

Honestly, if that hadn't been posted HERE, I never would have even responded to the topic.

As for what makeup I wear, since others have posted, I sometimes coat my upper lids with black grease paint, and use black mascara and liner. That gives me sort of a silent film/Valentino look. Nail varnish and matte lipgloss as well.

I really don't know, I think the more bands I got into the more I progressed towards Glam, hell I just thought it looked cool.

[img]redface.gif[/img] Stupid question I know... But How many guys on this board who are of the older Glam contigent with families etc still wear make-up?

I suppose I would still like to, but I'd look pretty silly now, with my receding hairline and short hair (maybe I should buy a wig!).

On that note though would anyone resort to wearing a wig???

Oopz, az for wearing a wig. Nahhh, i don't think i would if i ever lost my hair. They don't even look real lol! Btw, hair isn't the be all and end all anywayz really [img]smile.gif[/img]

My husband is 41 and has only worn makeup on stage at shows in the past few years. Hair can be bought if you have enough money to pay for such things as hair club for men(no one would even think "wig") but most people cant do it or keep up with it. Just be who you are and remember we may be older but we rocked harder,longer and we did it FIRST!! I turn 40 in December and believe me I'df give these 20 year old chicks a run for their money but with one exception..I have a developed brain as well as everything else [img]wink.gif[/img] We rock!!!!

I can see how losing your hair would cause you to be a bit less foppish than before. I'm lucky in that I've got a thick, full head of hair, which I like to do various things to.

Anyone who IS losing their hair could try a sort of Roxy Music era Brian Eno look. Think of RiffRaff in RHorror, only more stylised.
